Kiran Ryali is an Indian-born Artist & Engineer from San Francisco.
Kiran was born in Madras, India and raised in Macau, China. He later studied in many cities across the United States. In 2012, Kiran graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduation, he was recruited by Bob Lee to be a software engineer at a small startup called Square.
Kiran is best known for being the lead engineer that designed, built, and scaled Square's merchant payment ledger. His work enabled Square to process billions of transactions over years of hyper growth. He later managed Square's merchant onboarding and marketing automation teams, supporting the release of countless product features.
In 2017, Kiran left a prolific career as a technical lead and decided to focus on creative pursuits. He trained directly under world-renowned artists at the Academy of Art & San Francisco Art Institute. In 2018, he continued his artistic journey in metalsmithing & jewelry at Macchiarini Creative Design to expand the breadth of his creative study.
Kiran routinely shows artwork in galleries all across San Francisco. He is the executive producer behind the popular Swag Art event which features local artists & musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area.
